1. Cup: Bra cups should never be baggy. If they are, try going down a cup size. If you notice creasing just around the nipple area, you may have to go down a band size to pull the fabric tighter.
2. Underwire: The underwire should lie flat against your breastbone. If it rises up, you need to go up a cup size. The other side of the underwire should sit flat against your ribcage without digging into the tissue of your breast.
3. Straps: Did you know most of the support in your bra comes from the band? Well, it should. If your straps dig into your shoulders, it’s because your band size is too big.
4. Band: The band should run in a straight line across your back. If it rises up at the back, you need to go down a band size.
5. Comfort: Ultimately, your bra should be comfortable. Try it on under clothing to see how it looks and walk around a bit in it to see how it feels when you’re on the move

Briefs:

Bikini:

These sexy lingerie are very popular. The waistband sits low on the hips, and the side fabric is very narrow. Sometimes, it just has a string round the waist, and is known as a string bikini.

High-cut Rio:

This panty style is very similar to the string bikini, but has higher cut leg openings which results in the less modest coverage of a “V” shaped backside rather than the “U” found in more full coverage backsides.

Boyshorts:

Also called boy shorts or a boy-leg-briefs, these knickers are designed with a longer leg (leg opening rests at the start of the thigh) & a lower riding waistline (at or below the hip), resembling men’s underwear.

Tanga:

These panties are very similar to the boy short, but with a slightly higher waist and a lower leg. This style usually has thin straps across the hips rather than full side panels.

Thong:

The waistband is similar to tangas but rear coverage is not full. This is actually popular because it exposes the most in all the panty types. There are also other variations of this type.

G String – this is the most common among all the variations. It has an inverted triangle-shaped strip of fabric in varying width that is connected with strings to the side and narrows in-between buttocks.
V String – this is similar to the shape of G string except that the inverted triangle-shaped strip of fabric is replaced with two strings that separate from the bottom instead.
T-Back – is easier to recognize because it is all strings at the back fully exposing the rear.
C String – this one eliminates the waistband forming a “C” shape with a special frame that holds its shape. Useful for eliminating panty lines when wearing a silk dresses or tan lines when you are at the beach.
Cheeky – covers more area and is considered the most conservative of all the thong variations. The bottom fabric is still narrow and goes between the buttocks but the sides are covered with wider fabric which continues to the front.

Unlike years gone by, there is now a vast array of bra sizes and styles available to suit every taste and every figure. This is great news for those amongst us that are petite or larger than average. It is also great news for those that like to combine the practical benefits of a good bra with style, comfort and a dash of sexiness.

Measure Band Size

Measure around your rib cage, just under the bust. Make sure you pull the measuring tape tight and horizontally around your body. Round to the nearest whole inch.

If you come up with an even number, add 2. If you come up with an odd number, add 3. The result is your band size

Measure Cup Size

Measure around your back, across the fullest part of your breast. Make sure the measuring tape is horizontal but not too tight. Round to the nearest whole inch.

Subtract this number from your band size. The difference corresponds to your cup size. See the chart below for your cup size

Calculate your bra size:

Subtract your band measurement (step 1) from your cup measurement (step 2). Generally, for each inch in difference, the cup goes up by one size.See the cup size conversion chart here.

Example:
Step 1: 34″ under measurement +4″ = 38″ band
Step 2: 40″ over measurement
Step 3: 40″ – 38″ = 2″ or Cup “B”
Your size would be 38B
